Understanding the Role of Parenteral Nutrition - Nursing from Hospital to Home - BSNA hosting three-part live webinar series for nurses
Starting on 18 May, the British Specialist Nutrition Association (BSNA) are pleased to offer a live three-part webinar series introducing parenteral nutrition to nurses. The series consists of three 45-minute live sessions delivered over a period of three weeks and aims to provide a greater understanding of parenteral nutrition and the nursing role from diagnosis to hospital care and home.

Session 1 Wednesday 18 May 12 – 12:45 pm
The first session of this webinar series provides an overview of the different routes of feeding and product types used, highlights where parenteral nutrition sits within the nutrition support continuum, explores the indications for parenteral nutrition and introduces a case study. This session will end with a Q&A.
Session 2 Wednesday 15 May 12 – 12:45 pm
The second session of this webinar series discusses the management and monitoring of patients on parenteral nutrition in hospital, looks at assessing patients in hospital for home PN, explains the licensing and preparation of PN, and applies learnings to the case study introduced in the first session. This session will end with a Q&A.
Session 3 Wednesday 8 June 12 – 12:45 pm
The final session of this webinar series provides an overview of home parenteral nutrition, describes the process of discharge from hospital to home, outlines the role of the homecare nurse, discusses monitoring patients on PN at home including potential complications and builds on the case study with the session’s learnings. This session will end with a Q&A.
