BSNA RESPONSE TO PUBLICATION OF COMMERCIAL BABY FOOD AND DRINK: VOLUNTARY INDUSTRY GUIDELINES

On 22 August 2025, the Department of Health and Social Care published its voluntary industry guidelines on commercial baby food and drink.

Responding to the voluntary guidelines, Declan O’Brien, Director General at the British Specialist Nutrition Association, said:

 "Our members are always working to improve their products, having carried out significant reformulation in recent years, including reducing sugar and increasing vegetable content.

We continue to work with the government to ensure children have access to healthy, tasty foods and parents feel confident choosing from a range of nutritious options alongside home-prepared meals."
