June has gotten off to a very exciting start with this year's Dietitians Week (3-7 June) and BSNA welcomes the opportunity to celebrate the impact and value of dietitians in the UK. 👏 BSNA and our members collaborate and work with a range of dietitians across many specialities and we recognise the value of this highly skilled profession.
We support the British Dietetic Association (BDA)'s work to promote the work of the dietetic workforce (https://www.bda.uk.com/news-campaigns/campaigns/dietitians-week.html) . Although not all patients at risk of malnutrition will need to see a dietitian, they play a crucial role in leading the implementation of appropriate evidence-based malnutrition management pathways, such as the Managing Adult Malnutrition in the Community Pathway to effectively address malnutrition through early intervention.
Given early intervention and prevention will be a key theme of the hotly awaited NHS Ten Year Plan, we look forward to a commitment in the plan to supporting and expanding the dietetic workforce, ensuring patients can receive high quality nutritional care when and where they need it.
